Yaya Toure Is African Football Player of the Year

Yaya_TouréYaya Toure, the Ivorian sensational midfielder has been named the 2014 GLO/CAF African Footballer of the Year at the annual award ceremony which held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Toure beat Nigeria’s Vincent Enyeama and Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to clinch the award.
The award means Toure, who also plays for Manchester City in England, is the first player to win the award for four consecutive years.
Asisat Oshoala, the Super Falcon striker, who was the highest goal scorer and the Most Valuable Player at the 2014 U -20 FIFA Women’s World Cup held in Canada, emerged as the winner of the Woman Player of the Year award.
DR Congo’s Firmin Mubele Ndombe was named the African Player of the Year (Based in Africa)
Algeria won the National Team of the Year in the Men’s category while the Super Falcons emerged the Women’s Team of the Year.
Es Setif FC, an Algerian club side, was named the Club of the Year,
The Most Promising Talent award was won by Yacine Brahimi of Algeria.
Kheireddine Madoui of Algeria’s ES Setif emerged the Coach of the Year while Papa Bakary Gassama was named the Referee of the Year.
