The Nigerian Senate Chamber resumes proceedings around 11am on Wednesday. The Sergeant at Arms of the Senate now announces the arrival of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki into the Chamber.
They moved into executive session after the president had said the opening prayer.
About 20minutes ago the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Olusola Adeyeye called the Chamber to order as he asked Distinguished Senators to take their seats. Saraki then reports progress saying the closed door session was towards the smooth running of the Senate.
Senator Yusuf Yusuf moved for the adoption of the Votes and Proceedings of Tuesday 7th June, 2016. It is accordingly seconded.
Senate President made announcements and also acknowledges students and pupils present in the Senate Gallery.
Senator Sabi Abdullahi raises a Petition against a firm in his constituency and it is referred to the Ethic PPP committee.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu raises a Petition on the molestation and rape of an 8-Year Old Child. It is as well referred to the Ethic Privileges and Public Petitions (PPP) committee.
Senator Theodore Orji as well raises a Petition from his Constituent. It is referred to the Ethic PPP committee for action.
Senator Lanre Tejuoso also lays a Petition from his Constituent. It is referred to the Ethic PPP committee for action.
Senator Fatai Buhari raises a Point of Order on the referral of the Constituency Catalyst Fund Bill to a different Committee.
Senator Rafiu Ibrahim raises a Point of Order on a statement in almost all of today’s Newspapers made by the Minister for Labour.
He also asked in his capacity as Banking Committee Chair and asks that the Senate summon the Minister, Centre Bank and Banks.

The Bill for an Act to establish the Postgraduate Physiotherapy College of Nigeria SB. 204 by Senator Sam Anyanwu (Imo East) to be debated.
Sen Anyanwu rises and reminds Senators that the Bill had earlier been debated but was stood down due to absence of the financial implication.
Senate President subsequently puts the question and the Postgraduate Physiotherapy College Bill passes second reading.
The Postgraduate Physiotherapy College of Nigeria Bill SB. 204 is referred to the Health Committee for further legislative action.
Senate now moves to the Bill for an Act to establish the Maritime University of Nigeria, Okerenkoko SB. 295 by Senator James Manager.
Senator Manager now takes the Floor. He says the Maritime University of Nigeria, Okerenkoko was established by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Senator Manager says the establishment of the Maritime University is to make Nigeria at par with other Countries in terms of Maritime Devt.
