To prove the lackadaisical approach of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) toward the senior national team, Super Eagles is it inability to provide the just employed coach, Gernot Rohr with accommodation in Nigeria, even as the team is expected to commence training today.
The New handler is yet to be given the accommodation the Nigeria Football governing body promised him, as stipulated in his contract.
The German was expected in Nigeria on Monday night, ahead of his first training session with the team on Tuesday, as they begin preparations for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania this weekend.
“I am looking forward to settling down in Abuja, as soon as my apartment, as promised by the NFF is arranged,” Rohr said.
“I will be watching league matches across Nigeria to search for talents, in addition to using the players in Europe.”
Progressively, Rohr will use a test game against Nigeria premier league club, Akwa United to ascertain the fitness of his players and also gauge the technical demands of the match venue.
A team official told africanFootball.com that Wednesday’s friendly against Akwa United is at the instance of the Eagles coach.
“Rohr said he wishes to fully ascertain the match fitness of his call-ups as well as have a practical measurement of the size of the pitch of the Akwa Ibom International Stadium.”
