Nigerian Bar Association has announced a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Kano State, Mr. Abubakar Mahmoud its new president.
Mr. Mahmoud polled 3055 votes, to beat Mr. Joe-Kyari Gadzama who polled 2,384 votes and has Mr. Dajan Gal and Mr. Monday Ubani as vices with 4057and 4375votes respectively.
Mr. Olagunju Isiaka polled 2721 votes to emerge General Secretary as against Yama Desmond who secured 2,510 votes.
The chairman of the NBA Electoral Committee, Mr. Ken Mozia (SAN), who made announcement in early hour of Monday, August 1, 2016, said both the first and second Vice Presidents emerged unopposed.
Ohagba Loe polled 2,402 votes to emerge first Assistant Secretary, while Balogun Oyeyemi emerged Legal Adviser with 3068 votes as against Onwuzuike Christopher who polled 2,043 votes.
The election was held on Sunday, 31st f July in Abuja which was conducted through electronic voting and monitored by the Deputy Director, Legal of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mariam Musa.
