An English drug addict has reportedly robbed and sexually assaulted a 101-year-old woman in her home.
The suspect, Samuel Cooper, aged 27, is reported to have committed the dastardly act after he broke into the victim’s home looking to steal cash for drugs.
The reports reveal that Cooper had attacked the centenarian while she was lying in bed, leaving her with damaged shoulders, cuts as well as “exacerbating the arthritis” in both of her knees.
Cooper, as revealed to the Southampton Crown Court, had ‘upended’ the victim ‘in order to make it easier’ to attack her, then attempted to cover his tracks with the use of an antibacterial cleaner Dettol.
The aged woman gave her testimony via video linkage to the court while she recovered from the terrible attack.
She said: “He’s altered my life entirely. It’s turned my life upside down.”
Although Cooper denied the charges leveled against him, he still bagged an eight years’ sentence following a trial.
The suspect was also sentenced to a six years’ imprisonment for burglary charges he admitted to an an earlier hearing, with both sentences to run at the same time.
