LASG Gives Private Schools Aug 10 As Ultimatum To Register

In order to ensure the delivery of high quality education to pupils in the state, the Lagos State government, has directed proprietors of private schools, irrespective of their accreditation status, to register their institutions at the education district within their area of operation on or before Wednesday, August 10, 2016.

A statement by the Assistant Director, Public Affairs, Ministry of Education, Adesegun Ogundeji, a copy of which The Guardian obtained, quoted the Deputy Governor/Education Commissioner, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, as giving the ultimatum in her office where she warned that failure to do so would attract severe punishment.
The statement added that the Akinwunmi Ambode led-administration places high premium on the important services being rendered by private and public educational institutions for socio-economic development of the state. “Hence, there was the compelling need to redefine the criteria for the delivery of quality education in the state.”
