Jimi Agbaje emerges PDP candidate for Lagos: Protest mar result

imageMr Olujim Agbaje has been declared the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party primaries held on Monday in Lagos.
Agbaje scored 434 votes to defeat former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.
Mr Tokunbo Kamson scored 46, Engineer Deji Doherty scored 21, while Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi also scored 21 votes.
846 delegates across the 20 local government areas of the state participated in the governorship primaries.

Announcing the winner of the primaries, chairman of the governorship electoral committee, Senator Saidu, Umar Kumo said “I hereby declare Mr Jimi Agbaje as the candidate of the PDP for the. 2015 governorship elections.”
Meanwhile, protest began shortly after the election was concluded on the allegation of irregularities. According to sources who spoke with News of the People pointed out that 803 delegates were accredited and the votes counted ended in the region of 863.
