INTIMIDATION: DSS fires Marylyn Ogar at last

It would be recalled that since assumption of office by the new DG, there have been a clinical sweep off some service men and women said to be loyal to the past government. The first move was cancellation of promotion exercise of about 44 senior staff and eventual rumour of deployment of Ogar to Maiduguri.
Sources at the service cited an instance of the arrest and detention of the former Chief Security Officer, Obuah to the former president Jonathan as a pointer to a clandestine agenda to punish some elements in the service.
Another theory being speculated before this new development was that some officers from a particular section of the country especially the south south and south east are being allegedly targeted for intimidation and harassment, although it has yet to be substantiated
Mr. Daura also fired Abdulrahman Mani, the chief security officer to President Muhammadu Buhari and immediately replaced him with Bashir Abubakar, an assistant director in the Bayelsa State command of the DSS.
Few months back when Ogar was promoted, some gender Non Governmental Organisations had praised the service for given a woman a chance, perhaps a recent development may make them to begin to sing a new song.
All attempts to speak with Ogar proved abortive as this medium learnt she is presently on a leave.
