The general overseer of The Redeemrd Christian Church of God, pastor Enoch Adeboye shocked many of his followers recently at the popular redeemed convention held at the church’s popular camp on Lagos-Ibadan expressway, when he publicly acknowledge late musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. According to the General Overseer, late afro beat king was one of the very few Nigerians that did not live a life of pratense throughout his lifetime.
In his view, Fela did all his things to the knowledge of his people and his fans, saying that most Christians today live a double life. The pastor said he could not comprehend a situation a Christian would be living a live of hypocrite or pretence.
Pastor Adeboye was quoted to have said “I cant understand why a Christian can pretend to be christian and doing other things at the back, this is one of the reasons I like the late Fela, because he did not pretend to be who he was not”
It was recalled that during the life time of the late musician, he went to altar with several women, he did not pretend not to be a smoker and neither did he say he frowned at traditional worshiping. Fela lived his life for everyone to see, not to deceive people nor to please anyone and mnay really appreciate him for who he was..
Pastor Adeboye however stressed  to the congregation to live a life of a true Christian that will be of virtue that worth emulating.
Fela was a multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, pioneer of afrobeat music, human right activist and political maverick. He died in 1997.
