Hakeem Bello-Osagie first came into limelight as a business whiz kid who was claimed to have achieved so much in his lifetime at 40. His acquisition of the United Bank for Africa was a bait to prove his ingenuity as a business guru. However the collapse of the bank under his watch was like a nightmare to close watchers. it was even more worrisome when lowly rated Standard Trust Bank consumed the mighty UBA and threw Bello-Osagie out of the banking boardroom. That was all that was told as far as his adventure in the banking industry was concern.
once again, Hakeem bounced into limelight again when he came out with a telecommunication company Etisalat as its chairman. he was at a time described as a businessman with midas touch to turn around the fortune of Nigeria’s telecom industry.
In an interview granted to Forbes Africa by Bello-Osagie, he said he is never afraid of failure, obviously with the precedence, he doesn’t. But investors must at as matter of worry begin to run from the man who is not afraid of FAILURE.
