Apostle Bimpe Sorinolu, a business woman and sister of former Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose finally succumbed to death few hours ago after a brave battle with cancer for several months. she died in a London hospital. The Punch had earlier reported of her confinement to hospital after about six months of celebration to have overcome cancer.   Once a socialite, not many were surprised when she decided to become a ‘born-again’ Christian and tagged herself, an Apostle for Christ. Now referred to as Beloved Apostle Bimpe, she had been out of the limelight for a while, which many adduced to her relocation to the United Kingdom.

According to the paper, in March 2012, she returned to Nigeria to throw a thanksgiving party to celebrate her improved health.  Then, she said she had come home briefly for friends and family members to see that she was well and alive after doctors gave her six months to live, following the discovery of cancer in her body in June 2011. Then, to say that she had conquered cancer would be stating the obvious- she looked very well.

But Bimpe’s story seems to have taken a new turn. A visit to her Facebook page last week, indicated that she is still suffering from cancer. She revealed these in videos, pictures and other messages on her Facebook page. Currently confined to a hospice in London, the mother of three is surely fighting the terminal disease with a hearty spirit. Even on her sick bed, she sings, plays with her children and shares sermons with her fellowship members. Already, a tribute page has been opened in her honour
