Self restriction definitely results to self relegation, One of Nigeria’s glittering musicians and writers; Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known by his stage name Adekunle Gold tells how he seized a life time opportunity that made him the public figure he is today.
The maker of “Sade” hit in a recent interview explained how he recognized and took advantage of signing with Olamide’s Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Label.
While narrating the link between them, Adekunle Gold described the relationship between him and Olamide as “merely business friends” since he (Adekunle Gold) helped the label design the logo and most of Lil Kesh and Viktoh’s work after they joined YBNL nation.
Dekunle speaks “I would never have thought that Olamide would sign me, so there is no way I could lobbied or pushed or sent my songs to him to listen to before signing me on the label, it was when I dropped Sade, apparently he liked it and everybody in the YBNL team loved it, so two days to OLIC concert, the first one ever, he called me to come chill with him at the hotels for rehearsals and everything.
“So two days after the concert, he called me that he would love to work with me that he thinks my song is a future and he doesn’t want it to change, I quickly took the deal before my guy would change his mind,” he said humorously.
Adekunle Gold is set to drop his debut album this July.
