The maiden edition of the historic and overwhelmingly popular Yoruba Movie Academy Awards project took place in Abeokuta the Ogun state capital hosted by the Ogun state government while the regional Integration and cultural nature of the YMAA project resulted in YMAA 2013 been held in Ibadan the Oyo state capital amidst glamour, style and paparazzi
The YMAA project as further enhanced its popularity and emotional connect with the overwhelming support and endorsements from the Yoruba Movie Industry practitioners, distinguished Yoruba sons and daughters and stakeholders across board
YMAA focuses on propagating the rich Yoruba culture and race globally through the overwhelming popularity of Yoruba movies and the vision of making Yoruba Movie Academy awards the biggest and most glamorous indigenous and cultural awards in Africa and the Diaspora in the next 3years in furtherance to creating an all-encompassing Yoruba film festival the first of its kind in Nigeria, Africa and the Diaspora
