Tragedy struck yesterday as mystery fire razed the house of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bode Ojajuni at Alausa Police Barracks, Ikeja. Ojajuni who is now Commander Area 1, was former Lagos Police Public Relations Officer and Principal Staff Officer to the former Inspector General of Police, Abubakar Idris.
Report said that the fire that raged for about 10 minutes consumed a better part of the house and left the abode in ruins.
It was understood that Ojajuni was away at his duty post at Area A Command Headquarters, Lion Building, on Lagos Island when he received a call from home at about 3:20 pm that his house was on fire and he quickly called for emergency support.
The quick intervention of the DPO Alausa, CSP Sola Omilade, neighbours and men of the Lagos State Fire Service, brought the fire under control before it could wreck havoc further.
The cause of the fire which started in the children’s room remained a mystery as nobody had not put up any fire non ignited any flame in the house.
It was learnt that the children were at the playground playing football at the time of the incident.
