​Oba of Lagos, Etsu Nupe, others grace Agric-Food conference

Oba Rilwanu Akiolu of Lagos, Alhaji (Dr)Yahaya Abubakar of Nupe together with other dignitaries joined stakeholders at the 2017 Nigerian Agri-Food Investment Forum held in Lagos during the week. The forum organized by Youths Off The Street Initiative (YOTSI), which is the brainchild of Comrade Kennedy Iyere, is aimed at tackling food insecurity in the country. The event attracted potential investors from the United States and Britain.
The royal father of the occasion and the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwanu Akiolu commended the present administration for making significant investment in the sector and advised that efforts should be made to provide the needed infrastructural support to help stabilize the sector.

The Etsu Nupe and chairman, coordinating committee of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN), Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, who was the chairman of the occasion, said he is impressed by the initiative, which is driven by the youths for the youths of the country, adding that engaging the youths in meaningful economic activities is a better way of dealing with insecurity.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, who is the co-chairman National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, was represented by His Royal Majesty, Architect Adeyemi Adeen Adedapo, the Alayemore of Osun State. Other dignitaries present at the event include the Emir of Gummi – Alhaji Lawal Hassan, Former Mayor of London – Mayor Kate Anolue, Commercial Counsellor to the United States Mission to Nigeria – Brent Omdahl, President Nat. Council for Women Societies – Dr. Gloria Laraba Shoda among others.
President of the YOTSI, Comrade Kennedy Iyere, in his speech said the organization is set to raise $350 million for investment in the sector, which would generate about one million jobs in the next three years.
