​​Ambulance kills teenage girl in Lagos, as bus crushes pickpocket

Tragedy has struck on LASU-Isheri Road, Lagos State, when an ambulance hit a 19-year-old teenage girl, who was walking on the sidewalk, yesterday.
It was gathered that after the incident, which occurred at 12 noon, the ambulance, owned by a private hospital in Allen Avenue, Ikeja, left the scene immediately as a crowd of residents and other motorists gathered.
The teenager, identified as Rebecca, was confirmed dead minutes after the accident at the General Hospital, Igando, where she was rushed to by sympathisers.
Rebecca’s death, residents said, came barely four years after her father passed on, leaving her siblings with responsibility of catering for her needs.
When Vanguard visited the Igando General Hospital, siblings and relatives of the deceased, were sighted crying.
Meanwhile, a pickpocket met his Waterloo yesterday after dispossessing a passenger of his phone along same LASU-Isheri Road.
It was gathered that the pickpocket boarded same vehicle with the passenger, but alighted few minutes after completing his task of dispossessing his victims of the phone.
An eyewitness disclosed that immediately he alighted from the bus, he was hit down by another commercial bus, popularly called Danfo, which failed to stop after the incident.
