On Monday night Miss Chioma Obiadi Stephanie emerged the winner of the 40th Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island.
The winner, who represented Anambra state, affirmed that her confidence and unrelenting efforts kept her head up in pushing harder in the competition.
“I was confident that I could become the next Miss Nigeria, so, I tried to put in my best.”
The undergraduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University studying geology promised to be the best expected of her during her reign as the beauty queen.
“I promise to be the best in my capacity as the beauty queen. Nigerians are expecting and the kind of queen they desire has emerged.”
The highly elated queen spoke of her desire to use her position as queen to motivate young ones and model them in the right direction. She also disclosed that the last edition was not her first in the ompetition.
Miss Chioma, who recently represented Nigeria at the 2016 Miss Earth beauty pageant in the Phillipines, beat 37 other contestants to take over from the outgoing queen, Lessi Peter.
Over 1,000 beauty queen hopefuls entered for the Miss Nigeria pageant however only 38 made the final cut. The auditions were held in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Lagos State.
Apart from the title, Chioma also won an all-expense paid trip to France.
