NTDC’s Dossier Of Fraud Exposed

SALLY MBANEFO 1The Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, Ms. Sally Mbanefo is in the news again and as usual for the wrong reason. Recent accusation of alleged incompetence and profligacy is coming from the union of the corporation and alleging various forms of mismanagement and corruption. Perhaps the corporation is a favored agency that has the backing of the presidency just like the former aviation minister before she was booted out after media outcry.
According to documents made available to the media and signed by Unwuchola Okpomo, it is alleged that all the funds made available for capital project was embezzled as no capital project was executed.
It was stated the all the money received from the federal government for overheads were diverted citing inappropriate spending such as paying about 800,000 naira to one Chris Okafor, a deputy director as relocation allowance that had since been stopped by the corporation. Another instance of embezzlement according to the document is the Sure-P tour guide and training programme that was said to have been sponsored by Sure-P without recourse to NTDC but the sum of 35million was allegedly retired from the corporation. Under the catalogue of her recklessness was also alleged 34.5million spent on tourism training for graduates of south-south origin which the union swore to be a fraud.
At the moment she is alleged to have employed over 50 new employees without due process as laid down in the civil service while most of the jobs are equally being given to consultants.
The document concluded however that ” all we are saying, Sally must go now now now”
All attempts to speak with the DG proved abortive while a source at the corporation responded rhetorically as the hand work of ‘detractors’ .
Below are the bromide of the documents
