Kidnappers Release Enugu State Auditor For N700, 000

The Enugu State auditor, Ogbobe Stephen, allegedly abducted by Fulani herdsmen along Nsukka- Adani highway has been released.
Vanguard, in a report, disclosed that a ransom of N700,000 was paid at a designated place in Amokwu community, Udi local government area, Enugu state.
The auditor was allegedly kidnapped on Saturday by some Fulani herdsmen along the lonely Nsukka-Adani express road while returning from a town hall meeting at Ukpabi community. According to reports, Ogbobe Stephen, with five others, ran into a road block mounted by the herdsmen around 4pm.
Information has it that the culprits initially demanded for N5million ransom on Sunday, then reduced it to N1.5million on Monday, before settling for N700,000 ransom for the release of the auditor.
