Everton have announced the signing of 19-year-old Nigerian Footballer, Ademola Lookman from Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee.
Everton made this public via their twitter handle by posting “@Alookman_ will wear the number 31 shirt at #EFC. #WelcomeAdemola pic.twitter.com/YHwZgMGTcy”.
Lookman, who can double as a winger and striker, has agreed a four-and-a-half-year deal to move to Goodison Park as the Toffees’ first January signing.
The Nigeria born attacker said he’s ‘ready to make the step up’ to the Premier League having sealed a move to Everton for an undisclosed fee.
He made his senior debut last season and has scored seven goals for Charlton in 2016/17, but now hopes to continue his development under Ronald Koeman.
“Everton has a big history and I was also attracted by the manager,” the England Under-20 international told evertonfc.com. “When you look at what he did at Southampton, and what he does with young players in terms of developing them, that was a big attraction.”
Having defeated Southampton 3-0 in their last fixture, Everton are next in Premier League action at home to Manchester City on Sunday 15 January.
