Edo Gov Election: Ogiemwonyi tells Delegates “The Destiny of Our People Is in Your Hands”

edo chrisThe Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship aspirant, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi told the indigenes that they are determinant of their own faith after the gubernatorial election scheduled for June. He said the people are to determine whether or not Edo people have truly imbibed the culture of “One Man One Vote” or have accepted to take their own destiny into their own hands.
Ogiemwonyi, who has the support of the incumbent governor,Adams Oshiomhole, made the assertion while addressing Edo South delegates across the seven local governments of Oredo, Uhunwonde, Egor, Ikpoba-Okha, Orhiomwon, Ovia South-West and Ovia North-East, stating that people who acquire power through the back doors are accountable only to their masters.
He promised to wipe out poverty from the state by engaging the jobless youths who have certificates into the civil service and those who does not have certificates will be inducted into the skill acquisition programme he will establish and at the end of the programme, such category of persons will be given five million naira loan at 0% interest rate payable after one year.
“I will industrialise Edo State by creating two industries/factories each in the eighteen local government areas, activates the more than twelve abandoned industries as well as revisiting the contract of establishing the Gele Gele seaport so that the rate at which our youths are migrating to Lagos and overseas to search for greener pasture will be reduced and people will be migrating to Edo State instead” Ogiemwonyi promised.
He pleaded with the delegates to vote for a man with experience; whose previous endeavour created opportunities for others to excel.
“You should not be intimidated by desperate moneybag politicians who are at the verge of trading off the state patrimony and our people’s future to external forces”, he pleaded.
Mr. Julius Obaseki, who described Chris Ogiemwonyi as a man with sterling qualities, said though he has two cousins, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and Don Pedro Obaseki in the race too but he has chosen to follow Ogiemwonyi because of his clean records that keep him going which other aspirants do not possess.
“Ogiemwonyi is a man you can rely on as the governor of this state. He is a man with sound character; integrity, courage, experience and humility and he never fails whenever he makes promises and with him the future of Edo State is secured”, Obaseki said.
