These are not the best of times for the former chairman of People’s Democratic Party Alhaji Adamu Muazu and former President Jonathan’s principal secretary Ambassador Hassan Tukur. Strong indications have emerged that the two prominent North-East politicians may soon be guests of anti graft agency over an alleged sleaze.
Information has it that the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at any time soon arrest the two personalities.
Others on the watch list are civil servants and powerful personalities close to Jonathan’s administration, Daily Trust has reported.
The suspects will be questioned about their involvement in financial transactions relating to security and Jonathan campaign funds
While Muazu’s case concerns utilization of public funds for PDP campaigns, Tukur will have to provide answers to monies spent on failed attempts to negotiate the release of the abducted Chibok school girls from Boko Haram.
Muazu reportedly travelled out the country a week ago.
The whereabouts of Tukur, a key kitchen cabinet member under Jonathan, is unknown though his associates have been making efforts to douse the media tension around his name.
