President Muhammadu Buhari has shown his concern on the fuel scarcity matter by apologising to Nigerians over the continued hardship being faced across the country.
Buhari, blaming the long queues at fuel stations on speculators and those resistant to change, further promised Nigerians that there would be no increase in the pump price of petrol.
Mr President made this pledge following the raising tension among Nigerians that the Federal Government may scrap fuel subsidy which will lead to increase in the price of petroleum.
While addressing a joint session of the National Assembly during the presentation of the 2016 budget of N6.08 trillion, Mr president said the pump price of petrol will remain at N87 “for now”.
“Indeed tough decisions must be made but this does not mean that we would increase the level of pains being felt by Nigerians,” he added.
