Ajimobi Set To Break 2nd Term Jinx

According to a popular saying in Oyo state, “Ibadan O kin Sin Yan Le Meji”, meaning Ibadan people do not serve a governor twice. This slogan may seize to exit going by what Governor Abiola Isiaka Ajimobi, the executive governor of Oyo state is doing to win his re-election in the next year general elections. Judging from the political history of the state, a governor has never won an election for a second term. The Agodi government house occupant is doing everything humanly possible to remain the number one citizen of the pacesetter state. He has been reaching out to various groups and associations to canvass for their supports. Last week at one of his numerous visits to these groups of people he said, we are serving the people, not the people serving us. The notion that no governor had ever served twice in Oyo state was wrong because Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief Ladoke Akintola ruled the state twice. You can see that no government has ever done what we are doing in Oyo state today. I am ready to serve the people as long the constitution permits”. He further said, the second term imbroglio has been stretched beyond its relevance. He said, as a performing governor, he does not seem to worry about the slogan. He however whip up sentiments by saying that, all his sleepless night and daily inconveniences he under goes in the process of changing the state for better than how he meet it will come to bear when its time for re elections.
