Africa’s preeminent businessmen like UBA chairman, Tony Elumelu; philanthropist and chairman, Cornfield Group, Dr. Babatope Agbeyo; and iconic African entertainers like Lenny Juma (Kenya), Hilda Dokubo, Kofi Adjorlolo (Ghana), Fathia Balogun, Ali Nuhu and Segun Arinze would be celebrated at this year’s 4th Edition of Africa Heritage Broadcasting & Entertainment Awards (AHBEAwards).
Other entertainers from across the continent expected to be garlanded are Lydia Forson, Kareem Adepoju (Baba Wande), Zeb Ejiro, Toyin Adegbola, Adewale Ayuba, Adewale Rasaq (Sokoto), Georgina Onuoha, Aralola Olamuyiwa (the female talking drummer), and Solomon Abiodun Majekodunmi. Veteran actor cum comic act, Okey Bakassi, has been announced as host of this year’s edition holding on October 20th in Houston, Texas.
Established in 2015 to celebrate and honour eminent Africans who have contributed to the development of the race through their crafts and talents, especially in the entertainment and the broadcasting industries, the Nigerian coordinator of the awards, Yomi Fash-Lanso, said, “This year’s edition will stretch to accommodate established African entrepreneurs and sports people. We believe in pushing Africa further through those who are really and truly making AFRICA proud so that young AFRICANS would see the need to believe and excel in their own way without being intimidated or run down.” Previous honourees include Adebayo Salami, Fabian Olojede, Ella Mensa, Kunle Afolayan, Sadiq Daba, Pete Edochie, Dayo Adeneye, Ini Edo, Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Muyiwa Ademola and Liz Benson among other top African stars.
Ahbeawards organisers would equally want to seize this medium to thank all past Recipients of this award for their support, contribution and availability. For without their consent nothing can be done. We’ll also love to appreciate our African brothers and sister for always coming out to support in appreciating, celebrating and honouring these legendary and iconic africans each year. Our unflinching appreciation also to our media friends, prints, electronics and blog. We sincerely appreciate your support.
